With NFL training camps underway, the league is abuzz with position battles, injury news and rookies making an immediate impact. Caleb Swanigan Jersey . Each day, TSN.ca provides the latest rumours, reports and speculation from around the NFL beat. Missing Time San Francisco 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree will miss one to two weeks with an injury , coach Jim Harbaugh announced on Friday. Harbaugh refused to detail the injury, but said it was not related to the Achilles injury that sidelined Crabtree until Week 13 of last season. Of the inury, Harbaugh simply stated Crabtree was "working through something." In five regular season games last season, Crabtree caught 19 passes for 284 yards and one touchdown. He caught 15 passes for 203 yards in three playoff games. The news comes just two days after quarterback Colin Kaepernick told the media that Crabtree was a "a step or two quicker" than last year. The 49ers lost running back Kendall Hunter for the season already with a training camp injury and will be without running back LaMichael James for roughly month after he suffered a dislocated elbow. Great Expectations According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers are counting on 2013 first-round Datone Jones to start at defensive end this season. Jones, selected 26th overall, is coming off a disappointing and injury-plagued rookie season with the Packers. The UCLA product managed just 10 tackles, however showed strong moments as he managed 3.5 sacks. The Packers base defensive will likely consist of Jones and Mike Daniels at the defensive end positions with B.J. Raji at nose tackle. Time for Teddy? Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune "wouldnt be surprised" if Teddy Bridgewater opens the season as the Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback. According to Scoggins, the coaching staff sounds willing to let Bridgewater start if he beats out Matt Cassel for the job in the preseason. The  Vikings traded back into the first round of this years NFL Draft to select Bridgewater with the 32nd overall pick. Cassel threw for 1,807 yards last season with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 9 games (six starts) with the Vikings last season. Former first-round draft pick Christian Ponder is the third quarterback in camp with the Vikings, though he appears to be ruled out of starting competition. Still Out New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills has not practiced since suffering a quad injury on July 25. Coming off an impressive rookie season in which he posted 641 yards and five touchdowns, Stills is fighting for a starting position in the Saints offence. In his absence, first-round pick and Brandin Cooks and third-year receiver Nick Toon are enjoying added snaps. Head coach Sean Payton told reporters on Thursday that Toon is having a "fantastic camp." Long Return St. Louis Rams left tackle Jake Long took part in team drills in practice on Thursday. Long is making his way back from tearing both his MCL and ACL in Week 15 of last season, in his first year with the Rams.  Long signed a four-year, $34 million contract with the Rams prior to 2013 season. He was drafted first-overall by the Miami Dolphins in the 2008 NFL Draft. Bolstering the Line The Arizona Cardinals signed tackle Max Starks on Friday, adding depth to their offensive group. Starks appeared in two games with the St. Louis Rams last season. The 32-year-old, who stands at 6-8, 345 pounds, was selected in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Starks spent nine seasons with the Steelers before signing with the Rams prior to the 2013 season. Jusuf Nurkic Jersey . -- What Anthony Jennings lacked in experience, LSU more than compensated for with a talented supporting cast in the Outback Bowl. Shabazz Napier Jersey . After losing Brett Cecil to groin tightness on Friday, the Blue Jays watched as R. http://www.blazersteamofficial.com/Brandon-Roy-Blazers-Jersey/ .com) - The fading Ottawa Senators have a chance to make up some ground in the playoff race on Tuesday night as they play host to the New York Rangers. RENTON, Wash. -- So much for concern that running back Marshawn Lynch would be absent from the Seattle Seahawks minicamp. Shortly after the first day of minicamp began for the Super Bowl champions on Tuesday, Lynch strolled from the Seahawks locker room with his No. 24 jersey pulled over a hooded sweatshirt. Lynch was just a spectator, spending most of his day chomping on sunflower seeds and chatting with teammates. But he was in attendance, avoiding the potential of being fined nearly $70,000 for skipping the mandatory team workouts. "We expected him to be here and he was here," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. Reports surfaced last week that Lynch might consider not attending the practices in hopes of getting a higher salary for the 2014 season. Lynch signed a four-year contract before the 2012 season. He is scheduled to make $5 million in base salary this season plus per-game roster bonuses. Carroll declined to discuss any conversations with Lynch about his contract. "There is nothing in our conversations about that, the business side of it that well talk about," Carroll said. "There is no reason to. We havent talked about other guys in that regard so were not doing that now." Lynch was not available to speak as he sat out the practice with a sore ankle, according to Carroll. Lynch had not been present for Seattles organized team activities and because of a sore ankle, Carroll said it would be unlikely his running back would be on the field during minicamp. Seattles plan is to make sure Lynch is healthy for the season opener against Green Bay on Sept. 4, which will be a very light load of carries during training camp and the preseason. Even though the Seahawks staff at various times during the off-season has expressed getting more carries for reserves Robert Turbin and Christine Michael, Carroll reiterated that Seattles run game begins with Lynch. Lynch has rushed for at least 1,200 yards in each of the past three regular seasons. Hes gotten at least 285 carriies in each of those three seasons and last season during Seattles title run finished the year with 366 carries combined between the regular season and playoffs. Ed Davis Jersey. . That was the fourth-most combined carries for any running back since 2009. "We have rested him a lot in the off-season. He takes a big pounding during the year. It takes him a long time to get his body back to where he doesnt feel the rigours of the season thats past," Carroll said. "In this case its unique but he is a unique player and he has a unique role on our football team, so we have to do what we have to do to take care of him." Lynch could have faced significant fines if he decided not to attend minicamp, but he has shown previously he does not enjoy losing money through fines. Last season, Lynch begrudgingly began speaking to the media during the playoffs in an effort to avoid hefty fines from the league. That included memorable sessions during Super Bowl week where he answered questions for about 20 combined minutes during three days of league-mandated media availability. "Marshawn has really been the guy for us and we love everything about the way he plays and what he brings to this team. Hes never taken a step backward at any time for us in all the years hes been here," Carroll said. "From the day we went after him and got him we had sights on him becoming the player that he has become and he has never disappointed us. Hopefully hell be really healthy and ready to go at the season start and if we have accomplished that with this off-season that will be very successful for him and for our team." NOTES: LB Bruce Irvin, who had hip surgery in early June, was the only player not in attendance. ... Rookie WR Paul Richardson was a full participant after being limited in recent off-season workouts with a sore shoulder. ... Veteran DT Kevin Williams was a full participant one day after signing his contract with the Seahawks after spending his entire career with Minnesota.
